National Developments

National housing and planning policy, including HMOs, is the responsibility, since the Government re-organisation of May 2006, of the Department for Communities & Local Government (CLG). Following the General Election of 6 May 2010, and the formation of a coalition government, the new ministerial team at Communities & Local Government comprised Eric Pickles MP, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Grant Shapps MP, Minister of State for Housing, and Greg Clark MP, Minister of State for Decentralisation (all are Conservatives). Grant Shapps MP was succeeded as Housing Minister by Mark Prisk MP in the ministerial reshuffle of 4 September 2012. The Department's address is Eland House, Bressenden Place, London SW1E 5DU, tel: 0207 944 4101.
